Family day-care service is offered to children whose parents are not able to look after them in a fixed period of time during weekdays.
In 1987, TFCF adopted family day-care service from Singapore to help parents with double-income or single-parent families solve their child day care problems. We also encourage housewives to join the skill training for empowering themselves with capacity.
Directed and entrusted by the Taipei City government, training for day-care givers was initiated in Taipei Branch Office. Based on the regulations acts for day-care givers, all of them should be qualified with a certificate for day-care service. In 1990, we started to provide training to our day-care givers. This year, there are 5 branches offices, including Keelung, Southern Taipei, Kaohsiung City, Hualien and Penghu, offering the training courses.
In 2006, Children’s Bureau Ministry of the Interior entrusted our 6 branch offices: Keelung, Southern Taipei, Taichung City, Kaohsiung City, Hualien and Penghu through different local governments for starting a “Community Day-Care Giver Supporting System” program. It aims at establishing a community day-care giver service network and management system. It contains the following two parts:
